By Car
Mechelen can easily be reached by car. The city is located
at the E19 highway with two exits: Mechelen North and Mechelen
South. We give you a description to the Grote Markt, the main
square at the centre of the city. There you can park your
car in one of the underground car parks. From there you can
easily explore the city by foot and walk to the festival locations.
By car from Brussels / Antwerp:
- Follow E19 Brussel-Antwerp, leave the highway at exit 9
'Mechelen Noord'
- Follow 'Mechelen'
- Continue at the first crossing (crossing Guido Gezellelaan)
- At the next light turn right in Sint-Katelijnestraat
- Continue this street till the end, it leads you automatically to the Grote Markt
- At the Grote Markt you can park your car in the underground car park 'Grote Markt'

Type "Grote Markt - 2800 Mechelen" and you'll be lead to the centre of the city
By foot
From Mechelen central station (Koning Albertplein):
- Follow Hendrik Consiencestraat
- Cross the following street and continue on Kardinaal Mercierplein
(66m)
- Continue on Graaf Van Egmontstraat (140m)
- Cross the following street and continue on Vijfhoek and
Bruul
- At the end of Bruul you automatically walk into Grote Markt

By train
Each day 513 trains arrive and leave in Mechelen. There are two railway stations:
the smaller station 'Mechelen Nekkerspoel' and the central
station 'Mechelen'. National and international trains only
stop at Mechelen central station, regional and local trains
also stop at 'Nekkerspoel'.
From both railway stations Grote Markt can easily be reached by foot, by taxi or by bus

By bus
From Koning Albertplein at Mechelen central station
:
- at platform 1 you can take bus 4 ‘Mechelen station
– Leest’.
This bus leaves every half hour (6.40am – 7.10am –
8.10am – 8.40am – 9.10am…)
- Get off at stop ‘Grote Markt’.
- Duration: 5 to 10 minutes
By plane
If you come by plane, you can either fly at the regional
‘Antwerp
Airport’ or at the national ‘Brussels
Airport’.
Each hour seven trains drive From Brussels
Airport to Mechelen central station.
By taxi
At Mechelen central station (Koning Albertplein) several
taxis are waiting
to drive you into town.
