2009|2012|2015
In the past the city of Mechelen organised every five years a big cultural
event. 2000 was the year of emperor Charles. In 2005 women ruled the city
during the event Mechelen, city in female hands. From 2009 the rhythm increases
and you'll be able to enjoy the cultural city events each three years.
The following city event will flourish in the Spring of 2009. It constitutes the first part of a trilogy,
a phased preparation for 2015.
The leitmotiv connecting the three events in 2009, 2012 and 2015 is a triple
question: What is this city's self-image? How does it envisage its future? And
what does it want to look like in 2015?
